The media play a big role in influencing guys to think that models and stars—or others who have "the look"—are the most desirable and valuable girls around. They also suggest that guys deserve such superior women—and make it seem like it's easy to get with one, which is the hook used to keep guys buying. Just check out how these actual examples feed the fantasy.

In May 2000, Simon & Schuster Interactive released a video game called Panty Raider: From Here to Immaturity. The game is based on the idea that male aliens become obsessed with super gorgeous human models, who are held up as the highest and most desirable ideal of female beauty. To win the game, players must strip the supermodels down to their underwear then provide photographs of them to the aliens, who threaten to destroy Earth if they don't get to keep looking at the superior women. Both the aliens and the male players understand that looking at naked supermodels is worth anything—even the risk of intergalactic disaster.
